Point guard James Justice has left the KW Titans after signing a contract elsewhere.

The decision, reported by Eurobasket.com, means that Justice will most likely begin the season in Doha instead of Kitchener. He recently joined Qatar Sports Club of the Qatari Basketball League.

Justice made his name known in the NBL Canada when he joined the Moncton Miracles for the 2015-16 season. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound floor general played a commanding role on both ends of the court, averaging a team-high 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.7 steals. He was also named Newcomer of the Year and earned all-league honors.

After arriving only last month, Justice's departure from the Titans may leave many fans shocked, but head coach Serge Langis has kept his cool. The coach stated that the star would inevitably move on after a remarkable first year.

"Guys with that kind of talent don't stick in this league," he said. "Simple as that. We roll with our punches and move on to plan B. We like our plan B. We also like our plan C. KW will be just fine; I don't get too worked up about it."

The NBL Canada is continuing to solidify itself as a pathway to bigger leagues, and Langis is certain that other stars will follow a similar path to Justice. Above all, he wants to put each player's individual career first and allow them to do what is best for them.

Note: Other sources have claimed that Justice has signed a deal in Saudi Arabia.
